The golf tournament was held on Thursday, July 20 at the executive Legends on the Niagara golf course, and saw participation from hundreds of amateur players from across the region. The entire event was organised by Audi St. Catharines, and saw the dealership put up vehicle displays throughout the golf course.

The team showcased nearly every vehicle from Audi's lineup, including a Gotland Green Audi A4 Allroad quattro, a Tango Red Audi A5 Coupe S Line Sport, a Monsoon Grey Audi A5 Sportback, a Glacier White Audi TT Roadster, a Florett Silver Audi Q5 SUV, a Misano Red Audi RS 7 Performance, a Monsoon Grey Audi S8 Plus, and a Mythos Black Audi R8 supercar.

The vehicles received immense attention from all participants, and helped showcase the dealership's and Performance Auto Group's commitment to support community events.

Audi St. Catharines also arranged a first-class dinner at the coveted Legends on the Niagara lakeside clubhouse for all attendees, and also awarded the tournament's winners with exclusive TaylorMade golf clubs and bags.

Audi St. Catharines Unveils All-New 2018 Q5, SQ5 and S5 at Exclusive Q5 Launch Event

Audi St. Catharines has unveiled the all-new Q5, SQ5 and S5 at an exclusive Q5 launch event at the brand new Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The event was held on April 27, 2017, and was hosted by Audi St. Catharines General Manager Vince Lepiane. Over 200 Audi enthusiasts attended the ceremony, and were treated to an up-close and personal review of the 2018 Q5 and SQ5. They also had the opportunity to explore the completely redesigned 2018 S5 Sportback, and enjoyed test driving the new vehicles on a custom outdoor track at the winery.

Guests were then welcomed inside for the official launch ceremony by a live performance from well-known jazz musicians John Neudorf Trio. The event was made extra-special by the fact that it was the first corporate ceremony to be held at the newly-built world-class Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vince Lepiane said the new Q5 marks the beginning of a new chapter for both Audi and the luxury automotive sector. "With its comfort, style and dynamics, the Audi Q5 is the new benchmark - pioneering technology, expressive styling and a powerful driving experience, all in one. Its design symbolizes Audi's new body language focused around athletic appeal, while its stylish interior offers segment-leading finesse and comfort. It truly sets a new standard for the luxury automotive sector," he said.

He also drew parallels between Audi's and Performance Auto Group's commitment to excellence, and said that the group is proud to be representing Audi. "In December, Audi St. Catharines became a part of the Performance Auto Group family of fine automotive dealerships. Performance's heritage in the luxury automotive market dates back to 1964 - a heritage built on an unwavering commitment to superior customer service, which is why all of us are enormously proud to be representing the Audi brand today," he said.

Vince then thanked everyone for attending the launch ceremony, especially Audi Canada President Daniel Weissland, to whom he presented a bottle of fine malt whiskey. "In our invitation, we made reference to Wayne Gretzky being heralded as "The Great One" for the NHL, and likened the Audi Q5 to the new great one. The staff at Audi St. Catharines chose this location with great care, and so we are pleased to present you with a bottle of fine malt whiskey made here at Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery. Thank you for making this an exceptionally great evening!" said Vince.

Performance Auto Group President Glen Alizadeh, CEO Steve Alizadeh, Vice President of Sales Dimitri Dariviris, and Director of Finance and Insurance Raymond Rabbani were also present at the event.

2018 Q5 and SQ5 features

The 2018 Q5 has a dramatic new front-end, with a Q7-inspired grille, LED headlights, and swollen front fenders that flow into the hood. The new model has lost almost 198 pounds compared to the outgoing model, in spite of a half-inch increase in wheelbase and 1.3 inches more overall length. Rear-seat legroom has grown by 0.4 inch, and the SUV now offers up to 10 more litres of luggage space.

The 2018 Q5 comes with an all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder delivering 252 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to all four wheels via Audi's latest Quattro AWD system with Ultra technology. This setup allows the Q5 to disengage drive to the rear wheels when it isn't needed, reducing drag and saving fuel.

The SQ5, on the other hand, features aggressive new bumpers, a unique S-range trapezoidal grille, sporty air intakes and a front spoiler. In the rear, the S brings twin exhaust tailpipes with an aluminum diffuser clasp, and features LED lights in the front and rear.

The 2018 SQ5 now features a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 pushing 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and achieves an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. An eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters delivers torque to the AWD system, which biases power towards the rear axle for a sportier driving experience.
